Gift Aid Envelope Scheme:
This scheme (Click here
to view) is usually operated by the Lodge/Chapter Charity Steward and
enables income tax to be recovered on `Charity collections` made in the
Lodge/Chapter.
Regulations from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), require that all
such donations can be identified as to the individual making them. It is
therefore extremely important that the face of the envelope is fully
completed.
The Lodge/Chapter Charity Steward will summarise the list of donations from
the `Charity collection` and forward such details, along with a cheque for the
total, to the EKPCA who will recover the tax. The donation and the tax
recovered (currently 25%, please
click here to see the section relating to Gift Aid) will be credited to an account in the name of the Lodge/Chapter.
Donations made using this scheme will not be credited to the individual
Member’s account.
The `Gift Aid Envelope Scheme` should not be used by individuals wishing to
make donations outside of the Lodge/Chapter `Charity collection`.
Please note that there is no change to the operation of this scheme.
