What Form to use:

Gift Aid Standing Order Form (GASO):

This Form should be used, by individual account holders, when you wish to make a donation to a Charity and to benefit from the Gift Aid scheme.

It enables you to make the donation by Standing Order, such donations will automatically be added to your account along with the income tax recovered. (currently 28%, this will decrease to 25% as from 6th April 2008). The Chancellor has announced in the Budget that, subject to the passing of the Finance Bill, the rate will reduce to 25% but under `Transitional Rules`, Charities will be allowed to claim back the difference between 28% and 25%, subject to set time limits. The effect of this change will therefore be neutral and the 28% will continue to be effective for the period 2008/2009 to 2010/2011.

The Form is self explanatory but it is important that all relevant sections are completed, particularly the `Gift Aid Declaration`, if applicable. Please remember to sign and date your completed Form.

To assist you, there are a number of named Charities with `tick boxes`, should the Charity that you wish to donate to not be listed, please enter it in the space provided. Should you wish to defer your decision as to which Charity you wish to support, please tick the `to be advised` box.

For all donations to the Province of East Kent 2014 Festival, please tick the `2014 Festival` box.

NB: Instructions to pay or credit to a particular Charity, once given, are irrevocable and if a Member is in any doubt as to how the donation/money should be applied, then the `To be advised` box should be ticked. Instructions can then be given, at a later date, for all or part of that donation/money.

Gift Aid Single Donation Form:

This Form should be used, by individual account holders, when you wish to make a donation to a Charity and to benefit from the Gift Aid scheme.

It enables you to make a single donation and still benefit from Gift Aid, such donations will automatically be added to your account along with the income tax recovered.

Gift Aid Envelope Scheme:

This scheme is usually operated by the Lodge/Chapter Charity Steward and enables income tax to be recovered on `Charity collections` made in the Lodge/Chapter (currently 28%, this will decrease to 25% as from 6th April 2008).

Regulations from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), require that all such donations can be identified as to the individual making them. It is therefore extremely important that the face of the envelope is fully completed.

The Lodge/Chapter Charity Steward will summarise the list of donations from the `Charity collection` and forward such details, along with a cheque for the total, to the EKPCA who will recover the tax. The donation and the tax recovered will be credited to an account in the name of the Lodge/Chapter.

Donations made using this scheme will not be credited to the individual Member’s account.

The `Gift Aid Envelope Scheme` should not be used by individuals wishing to make donations outside of the Lodge/Chapter `Charity collection`.
